A Thought:

The hunger for God can only be satisfied by a love that is face to face, person to person. It is only in the eyes of another that we can find the Icon of Christ. We must make the other person aware we love him. If we do, he will know that God loves him. He will never hunger again.
- Catherine de Hueck Doherty,
Catholic social activist

 peace
Gracious God,
In the words of I Thessalonians 3:12, we pray that you will make us increase and abound in love for one another. We invite you into our lives to be the center of our conversations, our relationships, our church and our lives.
             Amen.

Week 8-The Amazing Challenge

Watch for the 8th week installment of the Amazing Challenge and continue to take the opportunity to journey through key passages of  Scripture that will empower, guide and build a firm foundation for your faith.

Participate each week, look for hidden opportunities for gift cards, but most of all take time to learn, pray and strengthen your faith.

Bring your favorite dish and share a meal.   We will be electing officers for 2010!
Officer and board member positions available!  This is your opportunity to help educate the public, provide support to others and help move equality forward!

advent 2Sunday we begin Advent as we look forward to welcoming Christ into our lives.  The weekly themes of Advent will be Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.

What about you?  As you reflect on Christ coming into the world at Christmas bringing to us God's Presence and God's Power, are you living with Hope for your future?  Or are you living in despair and depression because of your circumstances or personal situation or condition?  God's Love for us through Jesus Christ transcends all our problems and circumstances, all our situations and conditions!  We can live with Hope for the future because God is personally present in our lives, and in our community.

How do I know?  Because your witness as a community of faith is having an impact on you, on our community, and on those who come to worship with us every week.  I see the positive changes.  I see a real Christ Community being built up by the way you care for each other and by the way you reach out to the guests God sends our way, as well as your loving-kindness in your involvement of caring for those outside our church.  Hope abounds within the people of Exodus.
